Nendo: Invisible Outlines, May 21th / October 1st - 2016

Following its debut exhibition in 2003, the “nendo phenomenon” has developed at an astounding pace by impressing us through the coherence and power of its vocabulary and its design inspired by Japanese aesthetics and natural rigour.

The same language is also found in the Softer than Steel collection that Oki Sato, the founder, created for Desalto in 2014 and that for the first time on 21 May will be the protagonist at the CID-Grand Hornu (Center d’Innovation Et Design) in Hornu, Belgium, with the first European retrospective entitled “Invisible Outlines”: a survey of matter and its relationship with space, as part of the comparison between visible and invisible, both inside and outside.

Some pieces of Softer than Steel will then become part of the permanent collection of this important cultural center born to promote contemporary design through a vast program of exhibitions and mediation activities, highlighting innovation, experimental research, the survey of new themes in the eld of design, architecture and applied arts.
