Hall 11.1 - Stand F027 E026
For Desalto, the Cologne Fair is an additional, ideal opportunity to restate and reaffirm its articulated design process, result of uninterrupted research, innovation in materials, true passion for design and attention to function, without ignoring quality.
For the 2020 edition, the company showcased itself in a stand inspired by the modernist home, designed by architects Calvi Brambilla. The architecture of the exhibition space followed a plan divided into five areas, separated and marked by walls and light partitions, with suspended panels in different materials and a variety of colours. In these spaces – dining room, living room, outdoors and studio – the latest products, which made their debut in April in Milan, expressed themselves with great efficacy.
From MM8, designed by Guglielmo Poletti, a lacquered table with 8mm thick aluminium top and two cylin- drical supports covered in aluminium plate, to Void, a collection of tables and consoles, with pure volumes, solid and light at the same time, also by Guglielmo Poletti. From Strong, designed by Eugeni Quitllet, a collection comprising dining table, bar table, chair and stool where the star performer is the curved steel tube (bar table and bar stool are also available in the ourdoor version), to Aria, designed by Atelier Oi, a comfortable lounge chair in mesh fabric, with an ethereal, almost immaterial appearance. Then there is Mun, designed by Mario Ferrarini, a small armchair whose welcoming lines perfectly echo the geometry of the full moon. And lastly, Step, designed by Nendo, a bookcase system defined by clean lines and light volumes.
In the various room layouts, intermingled with the many innovations and in harmonious balance, were pieces already presented in the collection, so in addition to an icon like the Clay table, there was the Helsinki bookcase, perfect ambassador of the true essence and spirit of Desalto.
