Desalto Toolbox: the beating heart of a creative journey
In the spirit of continuous design research, Desalto presents a new tool capable of translating its aesthetic and material vision into a tangible and creative experience.
In Desalto’s creative laboratory, the Toolbox takes shape, the latest vision of Francesco Rota, the company’s Art Director. More than just an object, the Toolbox represents a manifesto of method and thought, a bridge between the industrial and artisanal dimensions of design. Inspired by the traditional toolbox, it transforms into a container of inspirations, where materials, colors, and finishes become elements of an ever-evolving design language. Metal, Desalto’s signature material, bends into a pure and essential form, enclosing within it the capacity to generate new ideas and design possibilities.
The concept was born from the desire to give tangible form to the creative process, transforming the sample collection into a dynamic, sensory experience. Every fabric swatch, metal surface, and stone or wood sample becomes a design tool, to be paired, combined, and experimented with, just as a craftsman would at their workbench.

In this way, the Toolbox embodies Desalto’s philosophy: a constant balance between aesthetics and function, technical precision, and expressive freedom. Alongside this new tool, Desalto expands its material vocabulary, introducing a broader range of finishes and materials. Five new marbles for tabletops, new wood species and laminates, eighteen metal shades (matte or glossy), and seven galvanic finishes, together with an expanded collection of upholstery fabrics, open up endless possibilities for customization.
