The project concept for Helsinki is so precise and strong as to continually allow new directions for this collection, which has long been one of Desalto’s bestsellers. A big assortment of dimensions, finishes, materials and accessories give rise to a large family that discreetly enters every environment of home, office, public spaces and outdoors.

Helsinki 35 decisively expresses its solidity in large dimensions. The 35×35 mm section of the tubular steel frame allows it to support substantial tops with stability and structural continuity, enabling the table to reach up to 3 meters in length without losing balance or formal coherence. The more pronounced presence of the structure never becomes excessive: it remains controlled and well-proportioned, capable of engaging with generous spaces while maintaining a rigorous visual identity

Helsinki 35 interprets versatility as a core design principle. Its metal structure, defined by a 35 x 35 mm section, becomes an open matrix capable of generating ever-new configurations, naturally adapting to residential, contract, and hybrid environments. The chromatic system further expands its expressive potential: matte lacquers for a more sophisticated, tactile aesthetic; glossy finishes for vibrant, light-reflecting surfaces; and even galvanic finishes that enhance the metal with depth and refinement, transforming the structure into a distinctive feature of high decorative value

A wide selection of tops allows the project’s language to be modulated: ceramic for high technical performance, wood veneers for natural warmth, Fenix for surfaces with a soft, velvety touch, along with numerous other materials designed to meet diverse aesthetic and functional requirements. Helsinki 35 is not merely a table, but a system capable of evolving within space. A design platform that combines structural rigor with compositional freedom, offering endless combinations and an identity that remains always recognizable, yet never identical to itself.

Designer

Flavio Caronni from the early Seventies dealt with furniture and interior design. At the same time Donato Bonanomi developed his activity as designer for the textile industry.

Their joint venture, from the mid Eighties, has put them together in different projects and contests, in particular the ones regarding residential housing.

In 1990 they set up an architecture studio for residential and industrial projects, development and renovations, indoor architecture and design.
